Holy. Mother. of. GOD!!
So. I got my NSLU/2 for Christmas from my sister. Which is awesome (behold the power of Amazon.com wishlists... ... the only problem? I didn't get the remote controlled helicopter I asked for). The only downside is that it requires an external harddrive... which I didn't get (or expect, to be fair). So, with a little bonus I got from work, I ordered myself a big ol' 500GB hard disk from the bitch-goddess that is Amazon.com (long story, maybe for another time). Now... oh my lord... now... I can use the NSLU/2 as a linux box. No. really. Check it. Seriously, there are hundreds upon hundreds of packages to install. I can use it as an iTunes server (maybe...) or an NFS drive (transparently mounting the network drive as a local drive so the compy thinks its built in... he he)... Hell, I could make it a web server, ftp server, SMTP server. I could even direct the slug (as it's called by those in the know... which... I probably will be someday) to do bittorrent downloading while my main computer sleeps. How completely, rediculously, fucking awesome is that? I'll tell how awesome it is. Completely.
Now I'm going to bed before I start into this stuff. I have to open tomorrow and I don't want to stay up until 4am playing... .... ...... ......... or rather, I want to stay up till 4am playing and can't let myself. Freaking responsibility.
